The North End Farmers’ Market

The North End Farmers’ Market was launched in 2008 by Hartford Food System and the City of Hartford as the only market in the city to operate north of the downtown area. The market represents a grassroots victory for North End residents who long desired a farmers’ market in their own community. Every summer the market brings fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables from area farms into the North End neighborhoods. The market takes place in front of the North End Senior Center and is a vibrant community gathering place that regularly features live music, activities for children, and other events.

The North End Farmers’ Market is unique in that it is the only Hartford Market that has a Double Value Campaign for both SNAP benefits and WIC Fruit and Vegetable Cash Value Vouchers, which means that customers who use their SNAP benefits and WIC CVVs will receive double the amount of benefits to use at the market.
